Week 3 (I Know! Already!)
It’s crazy how time flies when you are having fun. And yes, I know it seems like just yesterday that we finally kicked off the most… wonderful time… of the year (as sung to some goofy Christmas tune)… AKA college football season! But as stated before, time flies when you are entirely too excited about college football (with the exception of the rest of the year when time seems to stand still because we are entirely too excited about the season to come). And we have now made it through week 3 and the polls (which in my opinion don’t really mean squat and probably shouldn’t even come out until later in the year, like week 8 or something) so here are the newly updated polls with the addition of my own personal version of the Top 10! Enjoy and tell me what you think!

Great Top 10. Oh wait…i didn’t read it. BORING
East Carolina???
Yeah, that’s right! ECU! Until they give me reason not to, I have no issues ranking them high. They may not keep it going, but for right now they deserve it! Their conference sucks so it won’t hold up, but for now I don’t know that anyone has played better against good teams! They beat #17 Virginia Tech and #8 West Virginia in their first 2 weeks. Maybe it’s just something they have against teams with Virginia in the name, but they have knocked off the 2 big teams they added into their schedule. Hats off to them. USC slaughtered Ohio State. That’s good. OU played a couple decent teams and dominated. Georgia wins, but should have lost (getting lucky 2 times with near scores). LSU has played App State and North Texas with a postponed Troy game. Woo hoo. Talk about big teams to start off the year with (and no I don’t wanna hear anyone complain about App State, they got lucky against a terrible Michigan team that still sucks). Auburn just won a game 3 – 2. Please. Florida has played some decent teams. Missouri has too, but will continue to look past everyone because they only want to play OU this year and attempt to repay for last year. USF has struggled a little but knocked off Kansas (who I’m not really sold on anyway). Alabama beat an overrated Clemson team and no one else. When Texas Tech proves to have a solid defense I will start taking them seriously. And we all know the Longhorns just suck. So there you go. That is my break down. Yes some of the top teams are influenced by the season opening rankings but they still need to prove they belong there.
You did it too? Alabama over East Carolina…lets rehearse this again…Alabama…beat 1 ranked team and put up 171 yards of total offense against a Tulane team that was unable to practice the week before due to being displaced by the hurricane. East Carolina has beaten 2 ranked teams and also beat Tulane (although by a narrower margin _but hey they at least got to practice before playing East Carolina)Alabama is a #13 at best until they DO something to prove they are better…you said it well, polls shouldn’t come out until later in the season…I’m thinking week 6.
I am with John Snyder, why aren’t the Pokes in the top 10?
I have a problem with Georgia not being #1. Now don’t get me wrong USC and OU are pounding people. But I believe if you start the season out #1 you should stay there until you lose. That is all. Also, I can’t believe you would not put OkState in your top 10
Ditto! Bring on the POKES! Oh…and I should be in your top ten. Remember our deal?
Pokes are in the Ok. top ten….
Too much is put into pre-season rankings. I wish they wouldn’t rank teams till after week 2. I think Georgia wouldn’t even be in the Top 15 if they did it that way. Go ECU!
You jinxed ECU!
